Word now comes that Dr. Hamid Hussain Sheikh, Lexington's infamous abortionist, has been indicted by the State Attorney General. According to the AG's press release, Sheikh "committed fraud by performing abortions and disguising patient visits as fetal ultrasounds for normal pregnancies, which he billed to Medicaid." Additional charges could come because of the unsanitary conditions found in his office.
It is sort of ironic that the crime Dr. Sheik is getting indicted for isn't half as bad as what he does legally on a daily basis. I guess it just goes to show that, in our culture, taking human lives is fine--but only so long as you have your paperwork in order and your floors swept.
